MG SV Build

Retro Sports Cars are currently building one of the last unfinished SV shells to come from MG Sport and Racing. So far Chris has had to build a complete wiring loom for the car- quite a feat with no wiring diagram! Some parts needed to be manufactured but it is now up and running, and on the road! Look out for it at MG shows this summer.

The MG SV shell

This was how the unfinished SV shell looked when it was collected.

Stub Axle

One stub axle was needed to get the shell onto its wheels but being the rare car it is it had to be made.

Starting to come together

Now the stub axle is made, the wheel can be trial fitted to establish if hub adapters are required to fit these Jaguar wheels.

Engine

Time to fit the engine- a brand new 4.6l 32v Mustang engine. The next job is to fabricate a whole wiring loom for the car!

Wiring loom

Making a wiring loom from scratch is no mean feat and a challenge that Chris relished. It took around 4 months of evening and weekend work to develop the wiring loom but its up and running now.
